Tell me our love is real...

Am I awake?
Take my hand.

Is this just a dream?
Help me to stand.

Are you just an apparition?
Calm my fears.

What if you're an illusion?
Whisper in my ear.

Are you just a fantasy?
Touch my cheek.

A daydream, so real?
Don't let me speak.

Is this a phantom before me?
Move a little slower.

Maybe an image from my mind?
Your lips come closer.

No need to prove you're a person.
Just tell me our love is real.

Need Your Help

Sorry for this quick little post.  I just needed to ask YOU to help me with something...two things, actually:)

#1 - I'm needing some fresh, new questions for the From a Guy's Viewpoint interviews.  I have a several guys that I want to ask to do the interview, but I'm thinking we need new questions.  Please comment with them.

#2 - I have decided to start making my 'Music Video Mondays' more interactive with readers.  So from now on, YOU get to submit a music video for the following week and if I like/approve of it, the one you suggested may be featured!!

Again, I apologize for this small post.  This weekend has been horrifically busy, but I am SO excited to tell you all about it!!  I will, hopefully, have a post up tomorrow, telling you a little about it:)

::hugs:: to you all!

Just For You

The other day, I was feeling very emotionally drained. A lot of things had cluttered my weekend, unexpected things happened (namely, the death of Josh). And also a friend was going through something really difficult. I felt like I was just holding all the weight on my shoulders.

I had been chatting with a friend and he noticed how I didn’t seem to be doing too good.
‘You should go take a walk,’ he encouraged me.
‘Yeah, that sounds like a good idea.’

After telling him ‘bye’, I went outside and headed up our family’s hill behind our house. Knight decided to tag along for a bit, but soon got distracted with a patch of fresh spring grass. So I continued on my walk alone.

I reached the top of the hill just as the sun was beginning to set. The blackberries and bushes were a bit overgrown, so I couldn’t see the horizon through all the brush. But remembering that my bro had secured a ladder (that he uses for hunting) in a nearby tree, I decided to take my chances at being afraid of heights and climb that ladder. I just felt that I needed to be off the ground. Needed to see the sky, the sun, the horizon.

So I climbed that ladder. I was probably about thirty feet high when I was able to see through the trees and brush and catch the rays of the sun as it started disappearing below the edge of the hill.

It was suddenly hard to breathe. The scene before me was so beautiful. And not necessarily because it was a beautiful sunset. I had seen plenty of breath-taking sunsets before. But it was almost like I heard God’s voice telling me, ‘This is just for you.’ My eyes welled up with unbidden tears and my breath started coming in short gasps.

I remembered back to something…I’m not sure where I remembered it from. Maybe something I read. Maybe something I heard. Maybe God had manifested it to me during one of my quiet times with Him. Whatever it was, this is what I remembered:

God loves me. He loved me enough to send His only Son to die in my place. I’m an imperfect human being. I sin every single day. But God, in His amazing and unfathomable love for me – for all of us – sends little blessings, every day to touch us. Because in blessing and making us happy, it makes Him happy.

Now that beautiful sunset that I saw…if it was just another beautiful masterpiece, that’s awesome. But when I saw it, I felt like it was for me. And I believe that God would paint that beautiful sunset just for me, if He wanted to.

Just for you, I came to this world.
Just for you, I died.
If I had to do it all over again,
Just for you, I would give my last sigh.

Just for you, I painted that sky.
Just for you, I spoke.
The colors came together in a magnificent hew
Just for you, they glowed.

And through the storms in your life
When your sails feel heavy and down
I walk beside you all the way
Just for you, there waits a crown.

Be blessed today.

The Avengers

Last Saturday, I went with my bro to go see what all the hype was about the new movie 'The Avengers'.  Don't get me wrong!  I'd been really looking forward to it coming out, but seriously?  I hadn't heard ONE bad report on it!  Not one.

Which made me all the more excited to see it;)

And let me tell you...

I wasn't disappointed.

---

::lets out a deep breath:: where to start, where to start...

Samuel L. Jackson as...
 Nick Fury

I loved how all the Marvel superheroes all tied up in this one movie...and how Fury was at at the center of it all because he is the one who brings The Avengers together.  Jackson is a great actor.  I really like him and his role, BUT...I was sometimes confused as to whether he was a good guy or not.  Just in some scenes.

For example, there's this one part that Captain America finds something on board their plane (that doesn't sound like a good enough word to describe their headquarters) and it all points to Nick Fury having hidden a piece of information from them.  And you're kind of wondering 'well, does that make him good or bad?'

I like how he kept them altogether, though.  He was a good leader and 'general', if you will.

---

 Chris Evans as...
Steve Rogers/Captain America

If I was looking forward to seeing any of the superheroes in this movie, it was Captain America.  I am a very loyal fan of his.  He is one of my all-time favorite superheroes.  (I don't care for the actor that much - as a person.  But...that's another story :P)

A friend of mine recently asked me why I liked him so much.  Honestly, he just has the best character.  He's strong.  He's a leader.  He's a fighter.

Captain America was such a fatherly, 'older man' type of character in this movie.  He knew what had to be done and he held the team together to GET it done.

He and Ironman had a few head bumps.  Mainly because Tony Stark is a bit full of himself.  He throws a punchline at Captain America about him (CA) being 'an old man', etc. ::chuckles::  But I think Capt. America did surprisingly well for his 'age'! ;)

---

 Robert Downey Jr. as...
 Tony Stark/Ironman

Seriously, no one could've played a better Ironman than RDJ.  He's a fabulous actor, but on top of that, Tony Stark's character is a lot like RDJ in real life, so...I guess that sorta helped it along. haha  Anyway, fabulous job, as usual, Downey!

He and 'The Hulk' really hit it off.  Like, they become best friends in the movie.  And there is one scene, in particular, that I love seeing Stark actually showing a bit of his caring and unselfish side.  Yeah, just try picturing that for a second;)

Ironman's character gave the movie a very strong, but yet (in some parts) comedic flair.

Oh and by the way, who knew that Jarvis' voice is played by Paul Bettany??  I JUST found that out... :P

---

 Chris Hemsworth as...
 Thor

Thor was, easily, my second favorite character in the movie.  I love his personality.  I love his strength - physically and character-wise.  He hates what his brother is doing, and is out to stop him no matter what the consequences.  He sees the distinction between good and evil.  And of course, he had his legit hammer that he fights with...I mean, seriously.  How cool is that?  And only HE can lift it?  Epic.

Oh and not to mention, he has amazing hair and eyes...and a voice that I could listen to all day:P  He was lion-y as ever.

---

Scarlett Johannson as...
Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow

Okay, I will be honest here. I was a little worried that they were gonna try making Black Widow pull off a sexy look and attitude. I was just waiting for a bad scene to come on with her and one of the guys.
I was SOOO happy to report that there wasn't anything 'bad' with her. I literally sighed with relief by the end of the movie because I was so worried that there would be.

Some people thought that she and Hawkeye would have a thing going on together - and they easily could have, but my friend and I agree that they had a very pure, bro/sis relationship which was refreshing to see in a modern movie.

She had some amazing fighting skills.  I was a bit jealous... :P  Her hair color was a little annoying at times, but I guess it's just a character trait for her:)

Good character, though.  I really liked her.  And when my little sister is older, I know she'll like sharing her name:P

---

Jeremy Renner as...
Clint Barton/Hawkeye

I had no idea who the superhero Hawkeye was.  Knew nothing about him.  Ddn't know what he looked like.  Didn't know his 'power'.  Nothing.

Heck, I wasn't dispapointed.  This dude was legit.
I mean, just look at that ^ pic.

He could shoot arrows like a boss.  Was fast.  Agile.  Smart.
I've always had a thing for bows and arrows.  Not to mention guys that shoot them.

Not to mention, he wasn't ugly.  His clean-shaven face was an A+ for me.
So a good-looking, bow and arrow boss, superhero?  I don't think anyone has a problem with that.

There was a rumor circulating that Marvel may make a 'Hawkeye' movie.  Not sure if that's legitimate or not.

And like I said, he and Black Widow had a very...interesting relationship.  Nothing awkward ever happened between them, but you could tell that they knew each other very well.  My bro knows more about superhero history.  All I knew was that they got along well, and I liked both of them.

---

Mark Ruffalo as...
Bruce Banner/The Hulk

{There was a rumor that Joaquin Phoenix was going to be cast as Banner.  Not sure how I feel about that.  I really, really like Phoenix, but Ruffalo was perfect for this role!!}

I'm not a huge fan of The Hulk.  I think he plays a good role as part of The Avengers, but I liked Banner better than The Hulk.  Does that sound weird? :P  Banner is calm, cool and collected.  The Hulk just goes around growling and throwing things in the air.

Okay, he was a good character, though.  I'm not saying he isn't!  There is one part that I was super confused about him...and then one part that I could've just given him a hug. haha

---

Tom Hiddleston as...

Loki

Ah, the antagonist!  A very evil one too.  Though a bit confusing at times.

The last movie I saw Hiddleston in wasn't 'Thor', but 'War Horse'.  And, if you've seen 'War Horse', then you know that it's impossible to hate him in that movie.  So I still had my 'Oh, Tom Hiddleston is such a sweet guy!' because of seeing him in 'War Horse' last.  I guess I wasn't really prepared to make him evil again (in my mind).
I don't think this movie was his best work.  Neither does my bro.  He seemed a touch dry in some parts...or like he wasn't really putting his whole self into the character.  I think he did good!  Just not excellent.
His hair kept driving me nuts too.

He is such a creeper:P

---

To conclude...

Fabulous movie.
Good, strong story.
Amazing action and computer graphics.
Intense drama.
Good character developement.
Loved all the superheroes.

I only caught two bad words (I'm not one to really notice them all that much :/).
There is one part that Captain America says something that...well...I won't say what, but something good and funny.  And...anyway, he's just the best. ::clears throat::

Ooh!  And for those of you who are wondering, no there isn't any romance in it.  At least, not any new romance;)  Gwyneth Paltrow does grace the screen again as Miss Pepper Potts.  I absolutely love her in this one!!  She and Tony are just...adorable;)

---

So anyway...

Have you seen it?

What are you thoughts on it?

My rating:
9 out of 10
