I seriously cannot believe how well my first Ramblings post was received. :D haha I know a lot of you were looking forward to it, but still…I didn’t think I’d get that sort of response. And all the comments totally made my day.
As a friend of mine said: ‘your readers are legit!!’ Like he really needed to tell me that :P ;)
So…you all gave me some good ideas in your comments. Oh! And speaking of comments, one girl (Marcia) asked if it’s okay for my readers to ramble in their comments on my rambling posts. The answer to that is:
By all means!! Long comments totally make my day! I mean, comments, in general, make my day. But long, rambling comments make my day super amazingly happy.
I loved all the suggestions you people gave me for fun, random things to begin my posts with! I liked the idea of a ‘favorite smell’, but…not sure if (by the time I write another Ramblings post), if I would’ve gained a new favorite. Know what I mean? I’m still open to suggestions, though, so…fire away! :) Oh! Somebody else suggested doing an ‘Ask Raquel’ thingamajig. That sounds fun! And I’m always open for questions. :) So…we could do that too. Maybe end with that, actually. And I’ll just answer the question that I think is the most…interesting. ;) Sound good?
Oh and since I was eating something else in my last post, I just thought I’d let you know that I’m nibbling on a blueberry muffin. Costco’s blueberry muffins are the best!

A few days ago, I finished a portrait of Brandon Heath. This past December, my Mama, bro and I got to go see him in concert (with Britt Nicole opening for him). It was a ton of fun! I wrote a review to his first album here. And I’m currently working on a review for his second one (What If We) – keep an eye out for it! :)
Not my best...and the scanner certainly doesn't help in making it look like it actually does :P ...
---
I’ve been thinking of starting to do exercises every morning. It’s not that I’m a weakling or anything (if you’re a country gal/guy, you get daily exercise no matter what :P). But I’m thinking more of the push-ups, pull-ups type deal. ::shrugs:: I’m not totally sure yet. My body has an iron deficiency (which I am currently taken supplements for). But basically, that means that I don’t have a ton of energy…which, in turn, prevents me from going out and jogging a couple miles. :P I love walking! And we live on a great country road that allows us to do that. ‘Walking is very beneficial exercise,’ to quote Miss Elizabeth Bennet. :)
How about you? Does your family have any sort of exercise program that they do? I know some families that have a sort of PE for their homeschools. :)

Is it just me or are custom license place becoming really popular? I have seen so many lately!! The other day, I counted about 8. I only remember about 3. DPQR (sounds like a radio station), Crazy 2, and T-Flo. Don’t ask me what any of those mean, but…I thought they were kind of interesting.
---
Do any of you remember when I posted pics of the back of my cell phone. I put a sticker of Rapunzel on it. Well, I decided to add a couple more.
What do you think?
---
Ooooh!! I have some really, really exciting news!!! I am now an official photographer on Etsy.com :) I opened up my own shop and am currently trying to fill it with photographs. I am so excited!! So far, I don’t have very many items up, but am adding more and more slowly.
Stop by and take a look-see whenever you can. I’d appreciate your visits. :)

Oh some other exciting news.
I have entered a new chapter in my life. A chapter I never thought I’d start writing. A chapter about something that I’m not a super huge fan of.
Football.
I can imagine losing about ten followers right now – just for saying that I’ve never really been ‘into’ sports. :/
BUT…there are some sports that I really do like. My uncle is the professional trainer of the trainees for the Peruvian national team – Alianza. And my Dad (his brother) was in a world-cup game. And they won. ::nods:: Yeah, pretty cool. ;)
AND, of course I love sports that have to do with horses.
LOVE watching the Olympics!!
But football. I’ve never really been that excited about it.
But you should all be very, very proud of me because…
::drum roll::
I watched my very first Super Bowl EVER this last Sunday!!!
And I decided that I like it…especially since the team I was rooting for won. ;)
Did you watch the Super Bowl this year? Who were you thinking was going to win?
Anyway…my official opinion:
Football isn’t all that bad...though I do think some football fans can make it overrated. :P
Eli Manning is pretty cool.
Tom Brady is not very attractive…okay, so he has his moments, but for the most part, he’s not. :/ Anyway, he's not a very good person..and plus, his stinkin' team has lost already (before this year) so...yeah. Gaints FTW! :D
Three Reasons I Was Rooting For the Giants:
1. I have lotsa friends in New York.
2. There were more black people on the Giants' team...and black people are KNOWN for being good at sports. (seriously!!)
3. According to the people I was hanging out with, the Giants are...just...better.
;)
---
And in closing…I have some bittersweet news.
In the last two months, three people at my church have gone to be with the LORD. Yes, they were all believers. One was an older gentleman who was 81 years old. He had lived a good, long life. The other two were women…in their late 50’s, early 60’s. They all left behind families and loved ones. And one of the women was one of my Mama’s best friends. We have known that particular family since before I was born. :/ It’s been a very painful road for Mrs. B. (since she had been battling cancer for a few months now), so in a way, we are all grateful that she is out of pain and in a blissful, heavenly body now. She leaves behind 6 children – 4 girls and 2 boys. 3 of the girls are married and out of the house, with children of their own. The youngest daughter (in her early 30’s) is still living at home, and has been such an inspiration to me – the way she had been taking care of her mother (without complaint) all the times she had been sick. The boys are 15 and 13 years old. My bro and I went and picked them up Saturday afternoon, just to get them away from their house for a little bit. We went to Dutch Bros., walked around at Fort Vancouver, went out to dinner (at Elmer’s!...yes, we had breakfast ;), and then they ended up coming home with us and spending the night. :D haha We watched ‘The Dark Knight’…and the boys didn’t go to bed till 11:30PM. I was a good girl and hit the sack at about 11. ;)
This was my food ^
But anyway…please be keeping these three families in your prayers. Mrs. B’s memorial service is this Thursday and I’d appreciate prayer for my Mama as well. We are all mourning the loss of Mrs. B., but…so, so, so happy that she is now home with the LORD. In a place where cancer cannot reach her and pain cannot seize her. She is happy. :)

Time to go help my little sisters with their school. ;) A big sisters duties are never done!
Question for Readers:
Where did you watch the Super Bowl this year?
My bro and I went to a friends’ house…in all, we had about 14 teenagers crowded into their living room. :D haha And out of all of those, there was only one person rooting for the Patriots. ;)

20 of your thoughts:
YES! thanks for answering my question. That photo of Brandon looks amazing! you are very talented. I love his hair. Oh, Rapunzel!! (love Tangled!!) And I went right on over to your photography shop and hearted it. I love the one of Knight's eye in the snow! hahaha football...I'm clueless. Actually I did a rambling post on my blog and talked about my opinion of football. (alilyamongthethorns98.blogspot.com/2012/02/ramblings.html)
haha I love your reasons for cheering for the Giants. Wow, 3 people in 2 months. I will defiantly pray for their family.
Haha... nope I didn't watch the superbowl. Instead I went to my church and had a cookout in the middle of the snow. :)
I was never a big fan of football until last Sunday when I watched the Super Bowl too! I really enjoyed watching it! And, I also was rooting for New York :))) I watched it with my entire family and a few extended family. It was so much fun!
Thanks for sharing this awesome random post, Raquel!
Much Love,
*MissLys*
Me and my family went to another family from church's house, (along with yet another family from church too). With the 3 families there we had probably 20 of us crowded into their living room and about 8 more in the kitchen off to the side. (The ones who didn't care about the game.) :)
You had to be really careful when walking back and forth to the kitchen (for snacks and pop!) so you didn't step on anyone; the whole floor was covered with people sprawled out. ;-D
Their TV wasn't near big enough for all of us to see so we hooked up the projector, then it was big enough. :D
Out of everyone only me, my sister, my older brother and another girl there were for the Patriots, but we didn't care all that much who won. ;)
We streamed the Super Bowl off our computer onto the TV. I was like GO GIANTS the whole time. So happy when they won! And Eli Manning is super cute! And I loved it when he gets all excited.
Okay. The Dark Knight. Was it not the awesomest movie ever? SO intense, and yah, awesome.
Also, I'm so doing stickers on my phone when I get one.
THAT. SKETCH. IS AMAZING. Seriously, you should sell it in your shop. I'll bet someone would pay lots for it. You have great potential as an artist.
I actually didn't watch the superbowl. Even though I love football... I was busy =| I wouldn't have known who to root for, anyway, since all my best friends were divided, and i don't know the teams. Now, if the AZ Cardinals had been playing... oh, you know it woulda been ON.
I am really loving these posts. Oh, and I'm off to add you to my circle on Etsy! I just opened my jewelry shop, too =D So exciting.
xoxo,
Jessica
I love your rambling posts! They are so much fun! Congratulations on your new Etsy shop! I have been thinking about opening an Etsy shop but haven't made the jump yet.
I have a sticker on my phone, too. My niece, Eve, gave me one when I was visiting them last summer (they live on the west coast and I on the east). Since I was sick and didn't feel like having one on my hand or clothes I stuck it on my phone. Eve was just trilled with that. So now I have a big lion sticker on my phone. :)
OK, having to exercize is the pits. I want to be thinner than I am but having to do an exercize program is not my cup of tea. I love to walk and hike but to have to do it regularly and call it exercize... ::shudder:: ;)
Football isn't something I'm into either. My brother-in-law is into it and my sister-in-law is into it and several of my friends are but none of the people who are living in our house are into it. I knew the teams because of Facebook. I had some friends are Giants fans and some Patriots fans. My friend was rooting for the Ravens (who lost the other week) and my brother-in-law was rooting for the 49ers (who lost the same day as the Ravens). Even if we wanted to watch the game we couldn't because we don't have cable tv.
So sorry to hear about your friends who have passed away. We had several close friends/family members who passed away last year. My grandfather passed away in July. It was hard for me since I was in CA visiting my brother and his family when he passed and I wasn't here for the funeral. Then my dear friends'father passed away after a short battle with melanoma. He was diagnosed in the end of June and he passed away in August. Then our close family friend passed away after 7 years with ALS. They were all saved and they are much better off then we are here on earth but it is so hard for us to be without them. I'll be praying for the three families you mentioned.
And Pinterest...I. Am. Addicted. My lands it has taken off. I go through the page of pins and I say oh let me pin this one and I can't leave that one and oooh don't forget to pin this one and my word I would love to have dishes like these and isn't that skirt to die for?! Pin. Pin. Pin. Pin. Pin. I think it could be an illness. :) And by the way, what is your favorite pin/board/like?
So you said rambling comments were OK and you got it from me! :D Looking forward to your next post.
I know you must visit a lot of blogs and I normally don't like to do this but I'm having a photo challenge on my blog this Friday. The challenge is to find and photograph hearts. Details here: http://katislittlecorner.blogspot.com/2012/02/hearts.html And if you go there you can take a look at my new blog design. Don't feel as if you have to, though. Just thought I would spread the word. This is my first photo challenge!
I actually did't even watch a second of it this year! Usually /i make myself watch at least a half an hour...but going to bed early just seemed so much more fun! :) I'll be praying for Mrs. B's family!
Hi Raquel,
There is a family that goes to our church that knows a lady in Oregon that just passed away after battling cancer for the past few months. Our church has been praying for her. it makes me wonder if it was your Mrs. B.
Oh, an your food looks so delicious. It's making me hungry. :)
Laurel
And since my other comment/book wasn't long enough. I forgot to say that Dutch Bro. is the best! It is so good! :)
Didn't watch the game much except for maybe fifteen minutes in total (including the end). My family watched it but I chose to watch a new movie - much more fun. =)
SO glad the NYG won!! The Patriots just seem... conceited.
For one I don't like football, I one like watching the humorous commercials just for enjoyment. Your Brandon Heath Sketch is way better than my artwork:D One of the things I love bout your ramblings your always in a good mood! Love you Rapunzel sticker (too cute)
I really loved your photo shop thingy it's very beautiful! I wish I was as good as you to take marvelous pictures. Unfortunately my digital is a horrible thing to take pictures with so ya:((
Love
Emmagirl:)
I'm glad that we can ramble in comments, cause on these kind of posts, that's just what I'm going to do! Haha :)
Wow, you have a lot of pins on pinterest! :) I requested an invitation, and got an invite, but it said to sign up with twitter or facebook.. and I have neither. Oh well! I don't want to get addicted anyways! Haha :)
That portrait of Brandon Heath is amazing! You draw really good! :)
I don't really have an exercise program... I used to, and we used to do PE with our old Church. I've been thinking for a while now that I need to set something up (kind of like you), and maybe jogging on my road (we have a dead end road that is really good for taking walks/jogs). :)
I think custom license plates are becoming more popular. Some of them are so funny. I saw one last night that I laughed at, but now I can't remember what it was. :P
I like the stickers on your phone... I have been wanting to put some on my phone too recently, I just have to find the stickers. :D
That's cool that you have an etsy! I will definitely check it out sometime! :) I made one one time, but haven't put anything up yet.
My favorite sport to watch is baseball, but I do enjoy watching football as well! I also like the olympics, (gymnastics), soccer, and basketball. We don't have cable at our house though, so we don't watch the games very often.
I was rooting for the Patriots (I live in Massachusetts), but I wasn't that upset that they lost (not as upset as other people were. Like you said some people make it way overrated), because it was the Patriots own fault. They had so many missed opportunities. Even though the Giants didn't have a very good record during the season, they deserved the win! :)
I will definitely be praying for those families who have lost loved ones recently, and your Mom as well!
Haha, yes! A big sister's duties are never done! Agreed! :) Oh, the question. I watched the Super Bowl here at my house on live stream on-line (since we don't have cable). :)
Wow, I felt like I just wrote a long letter to you! I'm sorry, I hope you don't mind!
A sister in Christ,
Karissa││Romans 12 <3
I watched the WHOLE super bowl for the first time every Sunday! I was going for the Gaints too!!!
LOVE your Etsy shop! I want to try and set one up soon!
Your post is SO inspiring!!
~ALYSSA~
I didn't watch the Super Bowl because I was at church. My church meets in the afternoon because we rent a building from another church who uses it in the morning.
I have to say, though, I'm not a big fan of sports either. ;)
Raquel,
It's true...these posts are really interesting! You don't even really realize that they're long when you're reading them!
Wow--you're such a good artist! I can draw--let's see--mountains, a playground, a stick person, a cinderella-type dress, a house, a box, and that's about it. :)
I didn't watch the Superbowl because really none of my family is into football although I have a load of cousins and relatives that love it. But, if I did root for a team, it would be the Denver Broncos (even though they didn't make it to the Superbowl) because I think Tim Tebow rocks--such a great witness and I really think God blesses their team!
Okay, my question: do you sew? I just got a sewing machine for my birthday this past Thursday and am starting sewing lessons with one of my mama's friends this Monday. Eventually, I'd like to open up a little boutique for kids on the internet--maybe on Etsy?
So sorry about your friends! I'll keep them in my prayers.
God bless you!
Joy :D
Yes i watched the superbowl, I've watched it the last couple years, but i am NOT a fan of football, soccer is definitely more my thing. I got to watch it with my youth group, I just sat and stared at the tv for the whole thing, not reallyy watching it, i was more watching the painful tackles and the weird and awesome last names. Manning and Manningham were both on the giants team..i thought that was pretty funny. Amukamara, Benjarvis, and Bradshaw...epic.
Dear Raquel, stop,
Firstly, the picture you drew is... Awesome. I love it. Your shading is really, really good. If only I could draw half as good... Stop
Yes, I tend to ramble A lot, and I mean ALOT when I comment, and sometimes I wonder if people get annoyed with me. They're probably like, "ummm... Did I Ask for your life story?!" and I'm like, "oops" but I personally love rambling comments. They're like a hot cup of tea. Stop.
Thirdly, or secondly (?) I'M so happy!! Overjoyed more like. That you like the BBC version of pride and prejudice!!!!! Its not that I hate the other version, it's an ok movie, but the BBC captures the feeling of Pride and prejudice. I love it!!!! Of I'm assuming you like the BBC version. ;) stop.
Lastly (I don't want to ramble forever) football. From when I was a little girl, I loved football. I loved to play it, it made me feel tough and strong, and I loved to watch it. Now that I'm older, even though I don't play it anymore, I still like to watch it (and secretly gloat that I know more about it than my older sisters;). Stop.
Sincerely,
Rebekah
P. S. I thoroughly enjoyed reading your rambles they are delightful. :) and if you've watched The Sound of Music, you will understand the weird stops. :)
I actually watched the Superbowl this year :) Generally I'm in the room, with the game playing in the background, reading a book, but this year I actually watched and enjoyed it. It was such a fun day :) In fact I just posted on it at my blog... well thank you for your blog :) I love it.

And I wanted the Giants to win :) and they did :) and it was a really close game :) so yeah :)
This post was delightfully rambling. :)
I watched the Super Bowl, too, with a bunch of boys (my brother's friends), and there were only two people rooting for the Patriots. :)
I love Reason #2 you were rooting for the Giants. :) We were at my brother's basketball game and one of the boys goes..."whoops, we're going to lose." Me: "why?" The other boy: "The other team has 13 African Americans and only 2 Caucasians!" They are pretty athletic.
