Take a Guess!
All right, readers...this photo is just a TAD easy, because #1 - it obviously outside...and #2 - everyone's gonna know right away that it's some sort of flower. But let's make this a challenge and ask - what kind of flower? ;)

Hello, hello!
I’m sitting here on my bed. My new bed, actually. :) (more coming on that…)
My window is open about halfway. There’s a little bird sitting on our raspberry, just outside my window, and it’s tweeting to me. :)
I took a shower this morning, so feel all nice and fresh in my favorite black sweats and Shade t-shirt. :)
My iPod is on shuffle. ‘Follow You’, by Leeland, Feat. Brandon Heath, is playing.
Well, I’m back. :)
I had an amazing time at the OCEANetwork conference!! Todd Wilson and Voddie Baucham were the general session speakers.
I really enjoyed getting to see Mr. Baucham in person – finally! I’ve heard so many of his sermons online, via CDs, etc., but it was different – and great! – to see him live. I got to meet him afterwards too. Jasmine wasn’t there. :( But he said that she was ‘joyfully at home’. :)
Todd Wilson was great too! I loved how funny and down-to-earth he was. Very easy to listen to – and enjoy – his sessions. I didn’t get to meet him…Mama and Noah did, though.
(It’s Your Life, by Francesca Battistelli)
The first day (Friday), I went to a workshop that was supposed to be by John Mayner, but something happened that he wasn’t able to be there, so Mrs. Lee Binz took over. I enjoyed the session. It was called ‘Moving Through the Maze of College Information’. I’m not even sure I’m going to college yet. Not sure that that’s what God has planned for me, but…we’ll see. :)
The next workshop, I decided to try out was by Elizabeth Knopp. Haha Boy, am I ever glad that I did!! :) I SO enjoyed it!! She is a delightful young lady and I just loved her. Her workshop was called ‘Eye Appeal’. It was about how we are so worried – and obsessed! – with how we look and act. How we are so discontent with the way God made us. How Satan wants us to believe that we’re not beautiful, that we’re not worth it, etc. She gave her testimony of how discontent she was with how God made her. She is 6’ 1”. Wears women’s 14 shoe size. She used to get teased and insulted a lot when she was younger, but now…she has accepted how God has made her. It was a beautiful talk! I took lots and lots of notes!! Not just on that workshop, though…on all of them. :P heehee
(Don’t Take the Girl, by Tim McGraw)
The next workshop was in the same room…by the same speaker. :) On ‘Lies and More Lies’ (Teen Girl Session).
On Friday evening, we were going to go stay at my aunt and uncle’s house. (They don’t live too far from the convention center.) I don’t know if you’re familiar with the Doorposts ministry…? Well, anyway, two of their daughters are like, super good friends of mine. :) <3 So…they had a booth at the conference, and they invited me to their house – and then they’d just bring me with them the next day. So, Mama said I could go (while everyone else – except Noah (he went to an MSOA family’s house) went to our aunt’s and uncle’s)…so I did. :) Suzy wasn’t there, though, because she was attending the birth of a mutual friend of ours. Okay, get this, people! This sweet family has had 7 boys in a row. No girls. But on June 24th, the Mrs. gave birth to a LITTLE GIRL!!!!!!!!!!! I literally screamed when I found out!! :) So special!!!
So anyway…Suzy wasn’t able to be there, but I hung out with Bethany…till 1:30 (that’s when Suzy got home)!! We just hit the sack…but talked for a while. Heehee Oh, but during dinner, we watched ‘True Grit’. Who all has seen that movie? Did you like it?
Then on Saturday…we went to the conference. (Oh, ‘I Promise’ by Jaci Velasquez is playing now)
And this whole day, I only went to Elizabeth’s workshops. :) Oh, and one of her brothers (David) speaks too. So I went to one of his too. :) The Knopps are an amazing family!! Seriously! They are just so sweet…and willing to talk and get to know you. I mean, they encourage people to come up and talk to them, ask questions, etc. I had a really good chat with Elizabeth. <3
My family and I spotted tons of friends that we knew. From church, MSOA, our old homeschool co-op, etc. We actually counted all the families that we saw (haha) and came up with the grand total of 33!! And some of those are just counting families in general…and most of the families have, roughly, 4 kids each. Haha So yeah…you do the math. ;)
Oh, and I got to meet a reader – Kaitlin P.! And another reader commented on my last post and said that she was there, but that we weren’t able to meet. :( I got to hang out with my friend, Isaac. :) And I got to catch up with some sweet friends whom I have not seen for quite a while!
All in all, a great weekend!!! Thank You, Jesus!
(Someday Soon, by Francesca Battistelli <3)
So…yes, about my new bed. :) haha I know that I said that I’d tell you more about it…
Well, a few weeks ago…(oh, and I hope this isn’t boring for ya’ll :P tell me if it was!)…
Anyway, a few weeks ago…we bought a daybed that came with a trundle bed. We were going to put it in our guest room, but I asked (more like, begged :P haha) Mama if I could put it in my room instead. You see, I’ve had a bunkbed in my room for the past few years, and I…well, I just wanted to try making my room look a little nicer. :P That huge thing of a bed took up half of my room! Or at least, that’s what it felt like. :P So…Mama said that I could put my bunkbed in the guest room and have the daybed in my room!! I was so happy!! :) So Noah (my amazing older bro!!) and I worked all day at taking the old bed apart, and getting the new one in my room. ::sigh:: And now, my dear readers, my room looks a LOT nicer. :) heehee It actually echoes too! Haha So I’ve been busy hanging posters, paintings, etc. up on the walls…yay! I feel like I have a new room. :) Oh! And now I can sit up in bed without bonking my head on the top bunk. :P
(That’s How We Roll, by Britt Nicole)
I’ve been editing my novel. :) I am SO excited about getting it all polished up!! There’s just one chapter/scene that I’m having a little trouble with. :P Grr! I just want to make it really, really good. It’s one of the climaxes of the whole book, so I want to give it my best!! Thus, I’m taking my sweet time on writing it. :P haha After I’m done editing it, I’m sending it to a couple friends to look it over…and help edit too. THEN, maybe a publisher??!!
Oh, and before I end, I have a few prayer requests…
Number 1: Mama and three of my siblings are really sick with some sort of cold or flu. If you could keep them in your prayers to get well soon, that would be great. AND for the rest of us not to catch whatever it is that they have. :P
Number 2: One of my girlfriends left on a mission’s trip to Poland yesterday. Please keep her and her group in your prayers. This is their first time over there.
(The Outsiders, by NEEDTOBREATHE)
Number 3: ANOTHER one of my girlfriends is leaving for Uganda next Monday. Pretty rad, because she’ll be flying over the East coast around 9 or 10PM…maybe in time to see fireworks from ABOVE! Haha Pretty cool! So anyway…she’s going with her best friend. And she has been to Africa before. She’s so excited about going back. :)
Number 4: I’ve started getting some more anonymous comments from people again. I’m trying not to let it stress me out, but sometimes I wonder if maybe I should just stop blogging…Please pray that the LORD would show me what He wants me to do.
So…comment and let me know how y’all have been. :)
Blessings!

Thinking on Good Things...
Today started out kinda downhill...
My uncle invited my bro and I to go see a movie with him, but we ended up not being able to.
So I was in a bad mood.
But then, I was like 'hey! I shouldn't get this upset just because I couldn't go see a movie!' :P
So I decided to cheer myself up...and think on somethings, lately, that have made me happy. :)
AND I decided to share all these things with my readers...♥ (feel special!)

My family recently bought this ^ movie!! Just a couple days after it came out on DVD!
I can't wait to snuggle up and watch it...oh, with a package of Junior Mints in my hand. ;)
I get to see this super cool guy in LESS THAN A MONTH!! I am...really ::clears throat:: excited about that.
Especially when I can boast a free ticket ;) Booya!
I am now an official member of Homeschool Alumni! Super excited about that.
One of my besties (Breana) from church let me borrow this book...
I've been wanting to read it for awhile, so now, I've finally gotten the opportunity to!
I have officially begun learning the Elvish language! A friend of mine is helping me :) heehee
(I just really like this pic, so am including it in this post :)
I'm happy, because it stopped raining for a couple days...just long enough for Noah to cut the grass in our front yard. It was starting to look like a jungle :/
And to end this post...
♥
::sigh:: Just writing this lifted my spirits...
maybe I should make these posts a regular habit! ;)

A new favorite quote!
I walked up the door, and closed the stairs,
I said my shoes, and took off my prayers,
I turned off the bed, and climbed into the light
... all because you kissed me goodnight.

Famous for...
So…I thought it’d be really, super fun to put together a little ‘famous things/people/places’ post that I’ve done/met/gone, etc.
Tell me which one you think is the coolest! ;)
Oh, and these aren’t listed in any specific order.
Oh, and these are all BESIDES the amazing bands/artists that I have seen in concert. :)
1) My great-grandfather worked as a guard in Czar Nicholas II’s palace.
2) I am in contact with best-selling author, Janette Oke and actress, Erin Cottrell. (literally ‘in contact’ – as in, we write letters and e-mails to each other :)
3) I have met Mr. Chuck Baldwin – the man who ran for President in the Constitution Party. AND I was ‘used’ in his speech :)
4) A part of the new movie ‘Grimm’ was filmed just down the road from my aunt and uncle’s house.
5) dcTalk dedicated their song ‘In the Light’ to my friend, Brian S.
6) My aunt’s mother-in-law lives near the late Fess Parker’s vineyard.
7) A friend of mine, who has been in the acting business, has acted opposite Jon Voight (Ben Gates - the dad), from National Treasure 1 & 2. (I’m actually interviewing this actor friend soon for ‘From a Guy’s Viewpoint ;)
8) My uncle is nationwide known for his gift of training Shire horses. And I help him out at fairs and stuff… ;)
9) I used to go to the sister church that Gregg Harris and his family go to…but I think what’s better than that is that I am still in contact with that amazing family. :) And Isaac and I are good friends, anyway.
10) I have organized a fundraising concert for my local PRC and was able to meet and chat with Caleb and Sol and Mr. Taylor Reavely. They’re all fabulous guys!! So yes, they are friends in real life.
11) Okay, so I don’t really consider this something to be SUPER excited about or anything, but…
I was on the set of ‘Twilight’. And yes…I did see Taylor Lautner – in REAL LIFE!!! (all the girls squeal…hahahaha) :) Yeah, one of my besties couldn’t believe me either, but…here’s the story.
We used to go walking in St. Helens (where most of Twilight was filmed). We were taking a walk one evening and came across, well, the set. Of course we weren’t allowed ON the set with the actors, etc. But…we were close enough to touch those tall filming lights. They had those ‘scissor ladder’ thing-a-ma-jigs there. We saw several cameras, and yes, off to one side was Taylor Lautner…waiting for his turn to pop up to the scene. Oh, and no, I didn’t see ‘Edward’ or ‘Bella’. :)
12) I've been on the 'Lady Washington' ship that's from Pirates of the Caribbean. :) I stood EXACTLY where Orlando Bloom stood in one scene from The Black Pearl. Yeah, pretty cool. ;)
I know there are other things that I've done...I just can't remember them right now. There may be a Part 2 coming to this! :D hahaha
Day #16 - A Song You Used To Hate But Now Love
haha Okay, so actually...I changed the title to this challenge. haha It was originally a song that you 'love, but now hate', but...I couldn't think of any, so...I just changed the title. :P So there! :) haha
Anyway...okay...I don't think I've ever really hated a song, but now love it...BUT, I have disliked an artist's voice, but now love it. OR disliked a band because I thought they weren't 'good', but then I actually heard their stuff and now love them. So...yeah. I'll give you two examples.
#1 - A Singer's Voice That I Disliked, But Now Love
I had never really liked Rascal Flatt's voice, until I heard this song (and later...Life is a Highway and Won't Let Go), and I'm telling you...his voice just grew on me!! :)
#2 - A Band That I Disliked, Until I Actually Heard Them
I was just a lil' nervous about posting this video, but hey! I always try to be as honest as possible, especially with all my amazing readers :), so...I'm just going for it and posting this video. One of the reasons I like it so much is #1 - the era it was shot in (early 1900's lover here!!) and #2 - the song is adorable.

Day #15 - A Song That Describes You
Okay, so I've missed a few days, but...I'm just going to skip over the last couple day challenges, and start here, on the 15th. (even though today's the 16th, but...whatever :P)
I asked Mama for a song that she thinks describes me and she said, 'I don't know, but for some reason MercyMe's 'Beautiful' is the first one I think of'. So there you have it, folks! :)

A new favorite quote!
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed people can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."
~Margaret Mead
This quote really encouraged me today...God has been doing some amazing work in my life lately, and I have just really been seeking Him for guidance and wisdom in some recent decisions. I hope you enjoyed this quote too :)
Never Been Kissed
One of the greatest gifts that I am saving for my husband is the gift of my first kiss.
Ever since I was a little girl, my parents taught me how special of a prize a kiss was. Especially one between a man and a woman. It was not a gift to give lightly. And honestly, ever since being little and able to ‘comprehend’ what love was, I’ve always thought it was more romantic to save your kiss for that special someone…instead of ‘going around and kissing every boy in town’. :)
I have kept my lips pure. I have never kissed another guy – besides my dad and brothers (and those are only on the cheek :) – and I don’t plan to, either…until that special moment at the altar. After we say ‘I do’…after the pastor says ‘You may kiss your bride’…and after my husband raises my veil. Then, and only then, am I going to give that man one of the greatest gifts I have.
Of course, like any other part of you that you want to keep pure (your emotions, your body), it’s not easy. :) I must admit that there have been more than one guy that I wouldn’t really have had a problem kissing, but then, I would catch myself and ask ‘What on earth am I thinking? Would I give this guy one of my prize possessions? What if he’s not the right one?’ And he always turned out not to be. :D haha
There are many ways to ponder too much upon your kiss. You may think on what your kiss will be like…and where?...will he initiate it or should you? I think the best way to avoid such thoughts is to, as much as possible, stay away from things that encourage this. Chic flicks, romance novels (yes, even some Christian ones :P), etc. For some girls, it’s easier to keep your mind off of this. For others, not so much. I would encourage you to remember – and I guarantee this! – that your husband will delight in your kiss even more, knowing that no other man has touched your lips. That he is the only one who has known the delight of your kiss. And that he is the only one who will ever have that privilege.
That’s another thing that I think to myself…
If I was part of the ‘dating scene’ – always having a new boyfriend, not having my parents involved in my relationship(s) and letting my boyfriend have too much freedom in touching me – what would happen to the sweetness of keeping myself for my husband? It would be…hurtful…sad…and could even lead to marriage problems. The same goes for him. If he and his girlfriend took too much freedom in expressing their ‘like’ for each other, how would that make me feel? Put yourself in that story…
Can’t you picture yourself thinking: ‘I wonder if he thinks my kisses are as good as hers were?’ or ‘When he kisses me, does he think of the times he kissed her?’
I urge you, my sisters and brothers, to keep yourself solely for the man or woman that God has in store for you! Keep your emotions…your body…AND your kiss for that one person. God will help you in remaining faithful.
Stay strong!
In Love...or in Lust?
We live in a world that encourages sin. Yes, let’s face that fact…even though it is a hard one to bear. We are taught – through movies, books, etc. – that killing is all right (and I don’t necessarily disagree with that – in all circumstances), committing adultery is all right, homosexuality is all right, abortion is all right. But in this article, I would like to look directly at what the world teaches us about lust…
The world teaches us that lust is okay. They may not say it as bluntly, but it is implied all over in our culture. From movies, to books, to posters, to magazines…and not only for men, but for women. No, there aren’t as many of the things listed above for women to lust over, but there is enough of them. And it doesn’t take a poster or a movie to make women think about men in a way that is unpleasing to God. It’s because women aren’t doing a good enough job on maintaining their emotional purity. Men are more visual and physical, while women are emotional and verbal.
One book that was a huge eye-opener to me on this subject, is one by Joshua Harris, called: ‘Sex Is Not The Problem [Lust Is]’. He really hits the nail on the head with that book, and I heartily recommend that you read it. He defines all the different forms of lust and honestly, I was convicted of a couple myself. It’s so easy to think-too-much-of-someone (a.k.a. lust), because this culture doesn’t help us put a stop to those thoughts. It encourages them. You may think that this one guy is really good-looking…and then the next day, you may wonder what he looks like with his shirt off. Nu-huh! Definitely going down the wrong road there.
I remember talking to a lady once, about a girl that she knew who had gotten pregnant out of wedlock. The lady was watching the girl’s child that day and I commented on the sweet boy’s face. She told me his parents’ story, and how the couple still wasn’t married. The mother of the boy had told my lady friend that she and her boyfriend wanted to get married soon, but they just didn’t know when. ‘I love him,’ the girl had told my friend. My friend told me that she had replied, ‘No, you’re not in love. You’re in lust.’ Ouch! I wonder how that statement hit that girl. I know I would’ve been like ‘Uhhhh…’
God created us to be attracted to each other. But He wouldn’t place someone in our lives without Him knowing that we are capable of holding back our feelings and emotions. When you find yourself thinking of someone too much, stop and pray. Ask the LORD to help you to think of things more worthwhile, and not be daydreaming over something that may never be. God will honor your desire and help you to maintain your purity. It’s so easy to lust, so find out if you are RIGHT NOW, before it can get too far.
‘Delight yourself in the LORD and He shall give you the desires of your heart.’
~Psalm 37:4
‘Do not awaken love…’
~Song of Solomon 8:4
‘For all that is of the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but from the world.’

Day #9 - A Song You Can Dance To
Okay, I'm doing really bad at this challenge... :P It's just that I don't want to post too many times in one day, because I seem to get less comments that way. Like, people don't want to have to keep revisiting my blog :P haha
Well, I wasn't sure if they meant a song that I would just jam out to in my room or an actual song that you can dance, like line dance, to. So...here's one that we like line dancing to...well, Scottish Polka. Enjoy ;)

Something to share...A Story...
I was sitting in church.
Suddenly, the doors burst open and the congregation turned to see what had caused the sudden noise. A group of about eight people, all wearing masks, entered our small church building. Guns were in their hands, and they were all trained on us.
A couple screams echoed from around me, but I sat still, stunned in amazement.
What was going on?
Husbands, fathers, and brothers began to stand up around me and my family. Before any of us could ask the intruders of their purpose, one of them spoke up.
‘All of those who aren’t Christians…can leave.’
There was a stunned silence for about ten seconds. Finally, someone stirred near me, and I turned to see a friend and her family stand, and slowly walk down the aisle towards the doors that were still opened. The mother clutching her husband’s arm.
My faith wavered.
Next, an elderly couple. Another family. Then, the pastor and his wife and daughter. One by one, the church began to empty.
My faith wavered.
I turned to look at my family. My Dad’s face was set as stone, and my Mama’s was placid and calm. She held my baby brother in her arms.
My faith wavered.
The man who had spoken began to chuckle. I couldn’t see his face, but when he spoke, I could tell he was smiling.
‘So it’s just you guys, huh?’
None of us answered.
‘Step to the front of the church, please.’
I looked at Dad, and he nodded, ever so slightly, and gently prodded Mama and us kids, until we stood in front of the pulpit. All of the men left, except the ‘leader’, and we heard chains being put on the front doors.
‘The back door is still unlocked – for me,’ the man said. ‘If you try escaping, they have orders to shoot you.’
My faith wavered.
He moved slowly to a side window, and signaled to one of his men outside. He looked back at us, and began to talk. His voice seemed muffled as I dwelt on my own thoughts.
This was a joke. Some sort of evil joke that these people are playing on us. Perhaps, behind that mask, was a man that we knew. Everyone had left the church because they were in on the prank. They just wanted to scare us. Yeah, like that story that I heard one time. About a Russian police force storming into a church. They made all the hypocrites leave, but only the true Christians stayed. And the policemen were actually Christians themselves. Yes, that’s what was happening here. This couldn’t be real. We live in America! We are free to worship.
‘Pretty funny, actually,’ the man said, suddenly.
I jerked back to reality. What was he saying?
‘You and your family were the only ones who stayed.’
He was looking at my Dad as he spoke these words, but my Dad didn’t answer. Just held his gaze.
The man humphed and turned away, going to a corner of the church, near a window. He proceeded to do something at a little counter that I had never really noticed before. I looked around and saw my little sister, Grace, playing happily in a pew…oblivious to what was taking place.
Suddenly, the church was plunged into darkness. The only light was from a small window up above the pulpit. Even the windows on the sides of the sanctuary were dark. What had happened?
My faith wavered.
Grace echoed a small, startled scream and rushed into my Dad’s arms. Mama held Josiah tightly, while all of us children stood around them.
Suddenly, I heard a hissing sound and looked to the nearest wall. Greenish fumes were slowly ebbing out of small pipes coming from outside. I heard my Mama gasp softly. My little siblings began to whimper. I looked to see where our captor was, but he had disappeared.
My faith wavered.
Then, I heard my Dad begin to pray. Slowly, softly, calmly…like when we prayed at home – over a meal or before bed.
My eyes began to tear. Half from the gas, that slowly continued to fill the room…and half from fear. I was going to die.
My thoughts raced a hundred miles an hour.
When I breathe in this gas and slowly fade away, will I wake up in heaven? Will Jesus be there to greet me?
No! I am a sinner. Worse than the worst. I’m not deserving to go to heaven. Jesus won’t want me there. Am I even truly saved?
‘God, I’m scared!’ I cried out. ‘Help me!’
Suddenly, a peace filled me. An assurance filled my heart. Jesus said that if you believe in Him, you will be saved. He said that when you repent of your sins that He is faithful and just to forgive them…and that He cleanses us from all unrighteousness. He came to earth to die for our sins. God only sees His Son’s blood when He looks at us.
I began to cry even more. But now, not from fear and guilt. But from happiness. I was going to meet Jesus face to face! I looked around at my family, but couldn’t see them, because the gas was creating a foggy effect. I heard my Dad’s voice continue to pray, and my Mama was whispering to my siblings.
I smiled.
My faith was renewed.
The gas began to stifle me, and finally, I breathed in deeply…
Then, I woke up from my dream.
